Meet the Teacher

Dear Pre-K Parents,                                                                                                    March 20, 2020

Welcome to Albuquerque Bilingual Academy! My name is Raelene Martinez, and I am happy to be your students Pre-k Teacher. This will be my 11th year at Albuquerque Bilingual Academy and my 7th year teaching Pre-K.  I love teaching pre-k it is so rewarding and I love this age group! My husband and I have 2 children of our own! My son is 11 years old and my daughter is 6 years old.   I am excited to meet you and your child, I am sure we will develop a great relationship throughout the year. I encourage you to communicate your thoughts, ideas, and feelings to ensure your child has an amazing learning experience here at Albuquerque Bilingual Academy.

I have an open door policy, which means that I welcome you to come into the classroom and be a part of your child’s education. However, I do ask that we have no parent volunteers the first 4 weeks of school to help with separation anxiety.  I will have a signup sheet outside the door; feel free to sign up for a day and time if you would like to come help us in the classroom. Children are always excited when their parents come in to help in the classroom!

I hope to maintain great communication with all of my familes throughout the school year. I believe deeply that you are your child’s first teacher and I believe that you should be involved in your student’s education. Therefore, I have made sure that we have many lines of communication which include phone apps (class dojo) and daily communication binder (F.R.O.G. Book). The first line of communication I will be using is a phone app called “class dojo”; this is an app that allows you to see how your student is doing any time of day! It is mandatory that all parents download this app as this will be the best way to communicate throughout the day. I will also be posting important information and sharing pictures of your students as they are learning in the classroom.  I will go over instructions on how to set it up for the mandatory information night on Monday, August 20th! You also access the yearly school calendar at

If you happen to have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at I will also send home a communication binder daily where you can write important notes. Please take some time to fill out the Parent/Teacher Conversations pages that I have attached and bring it on the first day of school. This will help me learn more about your child and their needs.
