Albuquerque Bilingual Academy (ABA) follows lottery regulations set forth by the New Mexico Public Education Department.
SB51: Charter School Enrollment Preference Amends 22-8B-4.1 NMSA 1978 re: charter enrollment preferences; schools must give enrollment preference to children of employees of the charter school.
SB272: Military Family Early School Enrollment Amends 22-1-4 NMSA 1978; military families relocating to military installations in NM pursuant to official military orders may enroll children in public school prior to actual physical presence in district; parents can submit student’s name for lottery, school must accept electronic enrollment application, must supply parents with proof of residence.

RETURNING STUDENTS
Please confirm by March 17, 2025 if your child is returning next fall for the 2025-2026 school year. All students indicating intent to return must fill out a new SY 2025-2026 registration packet via PowerSchool Enrollment. Deadline to fill that packet is 5/30/2025.
Students that submit letters of Intent after 03/17/2025 will be subject to entry into the ABA enrollment lottery with all new incoming students that wish to enroll for the 2025-2026 school year.
Important dates to remember for RETURNING STUDENTS:
- ABA Returning Students: Letters Of Intent to Return to ABA are due back to the office no later than 3:00 pm on March 17, 2025.
- Registration for returning students (K-8) will take place online using the PowerSchool Enrollment Student Information System. In-person registration dates will not be available. Returning students must have a ‘letter of intent to return’ on file for the upcoming (25-26) year.
- If you are a returning family that requires assistance with the registration process, please call 505-836-7705 and an a member of our enrollment team will contact you to provide you with the assistance you need.

Any new Letter of intent received for new students will be put on the next scheduled lottery drawing.
New student documentation needed: Original Birth Certificate, Shot records, adult ID and guardianship documents if applicable.

SB51: Preferencia de inscripción en escuelas autónomas Enmienda 22-8B-4.1 NMSA 1978 re: preferencias de inscripción en escuelas autónomas; Las escuelas deben dar preferencia de inscripción a los hijos de empleados de la escuela autónoma.

ESTUDIANTES QUE REGRESAN
Confirme antes del 17 de marzo de 2025 si su hijo regresará el próximo otoño para el año escolar 2025-2026. Todos los estudiantes que indiquen su intención de regresar deben completar un nuevo paquete de inscripción para el año escolar 2025-2026 a través de PowerSchool Enrollment. La fecha límite para completar ese paquete es el 30/5/2025.
Los estudiantes que envíen cartas de intención después del 17/3/2025 estarán sujetos a participar en la lotería de inscripción de ABA con todos los nuevos estudiantes que deseen inscribirse para el año escolar 2025-2026.
Fechas importantes para recordar para los ESTUDIANTES QUE REGRESAN:
Estudiantes que regresan a ABA: Las cartas de intención para regresar a ABA deben devolverse a la oficina a más tardar a las 3:00 p. m. del 17 de marzo de 2025.
La inscripción para los estudiantes que regresan (K-8) se realizará en línea utilizando el Sistema de información de inscripción de estudiantes de PowerSchool. Las fechas de inscripción en persona no estarán disponibles. Los estudiantes que regresan deben tener una "carta de intención para regresar" registrada para el próximo año (25-26).
