The Albuquerque Bilingual Academy (ABA) Governing Council has approved and entered into two contracts for construction projects at the School's westside campus. The two projects will add additional learning spaces that promote social distancing and will also assist with the School's plans to expand enrollment of the middle school.
The first of the two campus improvement projects is the buildout of a northeast wing. ABA partnered with Brycon Construction to complete the construction of additional teaching and learning spaces for ABA students. The northeast wing will include a new middle school sized gymnasium, three full size classrooms, a computer lab, an art room, and several storage spaces. August 15, 2022 is the anticipated completion date for the northeast wing.
Second, is the construction of the School's future multipurpose field. This multipurpose field will be constructed by Hellas Construction, a national leader in the construction of athletic fields. The ABA multipurpose field will feature an all artificial turf surface with play areas to accommodate kickball/softball/youth baseball, soccer, and football. ABA and Hellas expect the project to be completed by December 2022.
