On September 21, 2018 during a regularly scheduled NMPEC meeting, members of the commission voted 10-0 for releasing La Promesa Early Learning Center from their 2017 Corrective Action Plan. The corrective action plan was the result of previous financial mismanagement coupled with poor academic performance.
Since beginning the CAP during the 20017-2018 school year, LPELC has:
- Recovered all funds lost to embezzlement ($650,000)
- Made the top ten list for math growth (between the years of 2015-2018)
- Exceeded the state average of 3.2% for English language proficiency (LPELC - 6.9%)
- Earned a 'C' letter grade, falling .10 of one percentage point of earning a 'B' letter grade for 2017-2018
