Beginning Monday, March 16, New Mexico K-12 public schools will close for three weeks to mitigate the risk of community spread of COVID-19. While the closing is currently effective through April 6, it may be extended as conditions warrant. NMPED and New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) are working together on a daily basis to share the most current information as well as to consult on protocols, procedures and best practices. My Homepage

My name is Ana Cotrina and I come from Malaga, Spain. This is my fifth year at Albuquerque Bilingual Academy and my second time in the United States (I worked as a high-school teacher in New York 10 years ago). I love teaching these earlier grades and have acclimated beautifully to living in Albuquerque. I absolutely love the sunset sky; I think it’s probably the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen in my life! Even though I miss my country and family a lot I already feel quite settled. A lot has to do with the fact that I have felt very welcomed and supported from the very beginning…thank you!

I love going on hikes, browsing through thrift stores, reading a good novel and watching movies at home.  Those are my main hobbies but what I love the most is travelling so I can’t wait until I have time to explore this stunning state and other sites in the country.

I adore my 3rd grade students!  They’re a handful and boisterous but they’re extremely affectionate, curious and motivated to learn. My goal is for ALL my students to become completely fluent all seasoned with a lot of Hispanic cultural exchanges.
