“If you don’t make a mess, you’re not doing it right!”
My name is Amanda Trujillo and I am currently the middle school science teacher, middle school chairperson and girls’ basketball coach here at Albuquerque Bilingual Academy. I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education and am currently a graduate student at the University of Phoenix. I have been part of the ABA family for 5 years and have 16 years of experience teaching grades 2-8. I have supported students and families as a Student Assistance Team Chairperson and team member for 16 years as well! I have taught for Albuquerque Public Schools, Rio Rancho Public Schools, several charter schools and Evangel Christian Academy in Albuquerque. I have a wealth of experience in charter, traditional and private school settings. I have taught all core content areas, though I am especially passionate about math and science. I am also an advocate for culturally responsive teaching, social emotional learning, positive behavior intervention and global education.
On a lighter note, I love dinosaurs, reading, playing sports and binge watching true crime documentaries. I spend the majority of my time studying, hanging out with family and taking long rides down the many Bosque trails!
