    Today, @GOVMLG will sign an Executive Order to direct New Mexico public education to shift to a learn-at-home model as schools remain closed for the rest of the academic year.

    Beginning Monday, March 16, New Mexico K-12 public schools will close for three weeks to mitigate the risk of community spread of COVID-19. While the closing is currently effective through April 6, it may be extended as conditions warrant. NMPED and New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) are working together on a daily basis to share the most current information as well as to consult on protocols, procedures and best practices. Hola, mi nombre es Pilar Jaurrieta. Naci en Chihuahua, Mexico. estudie en la Normal del Estado en Chihuahua obteniendo el titlulo de maestra de educacion primaria. Empece a trabajar  en el ano de 1979 como maestra en la escuela primaria rural  en Ruiz Cortines, Namiquipa. Siguiendo con mi educacion superior me fui a la ciudad de Monterrey, Nuevo Leon en Mexico  para hacer una especialidad, donde obtuve  el titulo de Licenciado en educacion especial en el area de Audicion y transtornos de la comunicacion. En el area de educacion especial tuve la oportunidad de trabajar en grupos de rehabilitacion de la lectura, trabaje con ninos y adultos con trastornos de la comunicacion, con personas sordas y con baja auditivas, con estudiantes que presentaban problemas de aprendizaje y con ninos con autismo.

Mi primer trabajo en el estado de Nuevo Mexico fue en Bernalillo, donde preste mis servicios del 2003 al 2011.

En julio del 2011 empece a trabajar en La Promesa. Me gusta trabajar con los grupos de Kinder Y primer grado.  Para mi ha sido una experiencia fabulosa y me siento muy contenta de ensenarles a mis estudiantes el amor por el espanol ,por  la lectura y las matematicas, el compartir con ellos  un poco de lo que es la cultura hispana.

 

My name is Pilar Jaurrieta.  I was born in Chihuaha, Mexico and studied at the Normal del Estado in Chihuahua where I earned my title as "teacher in early childhood education.  I started to work as a teacher in 1979 at a rural and small elementary school in Namiquipa.  I continued my education at Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Mexico and earned my teaching license in special education with an emphasis in speech and langugae pathologist.  In special education, I had the opportunity to work with groups of rehabilitation in reading and worked with children and adults who had difficulties in learning and communicating and children with autism.

My first teaching job in New Mexico was in the Bernalillo Public Schools where I worked for 8 years before coming to La Promes.  I love working at La Promesaa teaching kindergarten and first grade.  For me, it has been a fabulous experience and I feel honored to teach my students the love for the Spanish language and cultural values.
