Beginning Monday, March 16, New Mexico K-12 public schools will close for three weeks to mitigate the risk of community spread of COVID-19. While the closing is currently effective through April 6, it may be extended as conditions warrant. NMPED and New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) are working together on a daily basis to share the most current information as well as to consult on protocols, procedures and best practices. Hello, my name is Esteban Cole. I will be teaching the bilingual component in 5th grade. This is my 7th year at Albuquerque Bilingual Academy. I was born in Quito, Ecuador. I lived in Boston for a couple of years and have been in Albuquerque for 17 years. I attended Manzano HS and graduated from UNM. I received my BA in Spanish from the University of New Mexico and a minor in Portuguese. I also spent 3 years at CNM doing my post-baccalaureate degree in Education receiving my teaching license in Kinder through 8th grade with endorsements in Bilingual Education, TESOL, and Modern and Classical Languages. I am currently working on a master's degree in Pedagogy and Learning at Eastern New Mexico University. I am a highly qualified bilingual teacher that will provide the best education for all students. My future goal in education is to attain a master's degree in educational leadership and become an instructional coach or a principal.

I am a very active person. In the past 6 years, I coached soccer, flag football, volleyball, and cross country. Coaching has been a great experience for me and for the students who participate in sports. I am very proud to get out there and represent La Promesa.

Classroom Rules: Don't talk back to the teachers. Respect for each other. Raise your hand,
